The Hidex Sense Filter Wheel and How It Works

One of the major specifications to consider when purchasing a multi-mode microplate reader is whether the instrument is monochromatic or filter based, both of which have their pros and cons.

However, the developers at Hidex have managed to overcome this problem by incorporating the best of both worlds into one machine: the Hidex Sense.

By definition, the Hidex Sense is a filter based multi-mode microplate reader which means it is not only faster but also more sensitive than a monochromator. The difference being, is that to ensure maximum flexibility the filters are uniquely integrated within a wheel system.

This wheel has the capacity for up to 32 common sized filters, which offers the highest level of flexibility, whilst maintaining speed and sensitivity.
